Vianney and I met in Southern Humboldt for her senior session. There are a couple of different reasons that I love to shoot in the southern end of Humboldt County. 1. The weather is almost always nicer than it is northern Humboldt. 2. I know of many great locations, all within a small radius of one another, so you can get many different looks in one shoot! We spend some time shooting in both Redway and Garberville and I think we got some great shots! : )
I was so excited When Cassidy asked me to take Cody’s senior portraits. He was a student of mine when I was teaching PE at South Fork High School. He was always very respectful and polite, and was also an awesome three sport athlete. I love being able to reconnect with students and see where how they are doing and where life is taking them. Cody’s mom wanted to have his senior pictures taken at the Benbow Inn which I think was the perfect choice. We finished up the session at the South Fork High School Football Field with some football images.
These images are from Kylee’s mini session we did at our Senior Rep Meet and Greet in June. We all met at the Benbow KOA park, where all of the girls got their hair and make up done. There were some beautiful little spots around the park that had some great lighting! Kylee is a senior at South Fork High School where she cheers for football, plays basketball and softball. This was just her mini session. She has a full session in October, which I can’t wait for! Is it really almost October? This year has flown by at the speed of light!
I have always loved going to the river ever since I was a kid. There is just something so relaxing about laying in the sand until you get hot and then jumping in to cool off. Listening to the sounds of kids happily shouting and laughing, and the sound of the birds chirping, and water splashing. I have been wanting to shoot a river session for a while, so I was stoked when Sonya wanted to do one! The session took place later in the evening in Southern Humboldt near the Benbow Inn. It gets up in the 100's in Garberville, so it was a great way to cool off after a long, hot day. The water temperature was actually pretty warm and enjoyable after the sun had been beating down on it all day. It was pretty windy for our session, but it made for some more dramatic photos. Thank you wind. : )
