Taryn is one of my 2020 senior reps. Not only is she at the top of her class at Fortuna High School, she is also super sweet. We traveled down to one of my favorite river locations in Southern Humboldt and shot some beautiful shots in the sunshine. The river is always nice and warm at the end of a long summer day, and I absolutely love being able to get my feet wet while I photograph beautiful seniors. It doesn’t get much better!
I was so excited When Cassidy asked me to take Cody’s senior portraits. He was a student of mine when I was teaching PE at South Fork High School. He was always very respectful and polite, and was also an awesome three sport athlete. I love being able to reconnect with students and see where how they are doing and where life is taking them. Cody’s mom wanted to have his senior pictures taken at the Benbow Inn which I think was the perfect choice. We finished up the session at the South Fork High School Football Field with some football images.
Rylee contacted me through my website. She is from Arizona and visits Shelter Cove in the summers. She originally wanted a beach session in Shelter Cove, but decided to add on a redwood location to her session. I am so glad she did! They are the cutest little family and it was fun doing both locations. : )
I have always loved going to the river ever since I was a kid. There is just something so relaxing about laying in the sand until you get hot and then jumping in to cool off. Listening to the sounds of kids happily shouting and laughing, and the sound of the birds chirping, and water splashing. I have been wanting to shoot a river session for a while, so I was stoked when Sonya wanted to do one! The session took place later in the evening in Southern Humboldt near the Benbow Inn. It gets up in the 100's in Garberville, so it was a great way to cool off after a long, hot day. The water temperature was actually pretty warm and enjoyable after the sun had been beating down on it all day. It was pretty windy for our session, but it made for some more dramatic photos. Thank you wind. : )
